'Road to Wimbledon' success...

After a successful junior summer series tennis tournament held at Ulverston it is fantastic to be able to report that for the second year running a pupil receiving tennis lessons at LLU has triumphed in Cumbria’s 14 and under “Road to Wimbledon” competition.

Peter O Donovan follows in Kelly Spry’s footsteps as county representative for the event to be held on the hallowed turf of the All England Club in August! This caps a great spell for Peter who has won numerous tournaments this year whilst also teaming up with centre players Angus Dobson, Will and Patrick Rigg in becoming county schools champions as well – a marvelous effort.

At the younger end of the scale LLU can also boast of area champions in the 9 and under age group with a strong team of Luke Armstrong, Jack Spencer, Alfie Danson, Toby Cody and Gabrielle Wheeler winning all matches played. Everyone is greatly looking forward to resuming their training in September with, no doubt, more success to come.
